{"id":343,"date":"2023-11-23T06:04:01","date_gmt":"2023-11-23T06:04:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/10.0.1.147\/?page_id=34"},"modified":"2024-07-03T06:47:22","modified_gmt":"2024-07-03T06:47:22","slug":"developers-test-network","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.hashcashconsultants.com\/developers-test-network\/","title":{"rendered":"Developers Test Network"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"developer_sidebar_right_inner_sect anim4\">\n<h3>Test Network<\/h3>\n<p>The test network is a small test HC Net, run by the HC Net Development Foundation (HNDF), which is open to developers.<\/p>\n<p>SDF runs 3 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hashcashconsultants.com\/developers-hc-net-core\">HC Net core<\/a> validators on the test network.<\/p>\n<p>You can connect a node to the test network by configuring <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hashcashconsultants.com\/developers-hc-net-core\">HC Net-core<\/a> to use this configuration.<\/p>\n<p>There is also a <a href=\"https:\/\/network.paybito.com\/\">Aurora instance<\/a> that can directly interact with the test network.<\/p>\n<h5>What is the HC Net test network good for?<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Creating test accounts (with funding thanks to Friendbot).<\/li>\n<li>Developing applications and exploring tutorials on HC Net without the potential to lose any valuable <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hashcashconsultants.com\/developers-assetbasics\">assets<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Test existing applications against new releases or release candidates of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hashcashconsultants.com\/developers-hc-net-core\">HC Net Core<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hashcashconsultants.com\/developers-aurora\">Aurora<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Perform data analysis on a smaller, non-trivial data set compared to the public network.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>What is the HC Net test network not good for?<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Load and stress testing.\n<ul>\n<li>If you want to test for performance, a good place to get started is by taking a look at HC Net Core\u2019s core performance document.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>High availability test infrastructure &#8211; HNDF makes no guarantees around the availability of the test network.<\/li>\n<li>Long term storage of data on the network &#8211; the network is ephemeral, and resets perodically.<\/li>\n<li>Your testing infrastructure requires more control over the test environment, such as:\n<ul>\n<li>The ability to set the data reset frequency.<\/li>\n<li>The need to secure private or sensitive data (before launching on the public network)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Keep in mind that you can always run your own test network for use cases that don\u2019t work well with HNDF\u2019s test network.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Test Network The test network is a small test HC Net, run by the HC Net Development Foundation (HNDF), which is open to developers.
